Catch it before it has a name.

Triage Engine detects the early signals of a reputational crisis, scores how serious they are, and hands a comms team a drafted response before a journalist calls.

Crises start as noise.

PR crises almost never begin as headlines. They begin as something smaller and much easier to miss: a shift in tone across a handful of posts, a small cluster of complaints, a question from a journalist with a slightly sharper edge than usual. None of that looks like a crisis when it happens. It looks like noise.

Somewhere in that noise is the one pattern that is not noise. By the time it is obvious enough that a human notices and escalates it, the narrative has usually already left the point where the brand could still shape it.

Most monitoring tools are built to answer “what happened”, not “what is about to happen”. A dashboard that reports rising negative sentiment today is telling you about yesterday’s problem.

Early warning
changes the outcome.

Why this is solvable now

  1. Hours, not days

A story that once took days to build now takes hours, sometimes less. Approval chains built for a slower news cycle have not caught up.

  2. Scoring at scale

Reading sentiment across thousands of posts an hour and flagging what deviates from a baseline is now a practical engineering problem, not a research one.

  3. Our languages

Language models can now handle code-switching between English and Pidgin, Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo well enough to catch tone and sarcasm that tools built for American or British English misread.

Three stages. One handoff.

Most tools in this space stop at detection or scoring. The value is in the handoff: a score that comes out the other side as a response you can use.

Detect

The system continuously pulls in signal from social platforms, news outlets, forums, review sites, and competitor and adjacent-brand mentions.

This is necessary but not, on its own, valuable. Raw mentions without scoring are just more data for a human to read.

  5. Competitor mentions

Predict

In design

A risk-scoring model looks for abnormal sentiment velocity, how fast tone is shifting and not just what the tone is, and narrative acceleration, whether a topic is picking up independent sources rather than staying in one thread. It flags the combination before it becomes a trending topic.

The method comes from intrusion detection. Establish what normal looks like for a brand, score deviations from that baseline, and route by severity, rather than asking a human to read raw social intelligence and hope they catch the pattern in time.

  • Velocity and acceleration

How fast tone is changing, and whether a story is reaching new, independent sources.

  • Complaint clustering

Whether similar complaints are bunching together in a way that suggests a shared cause.

  • Reach shifts

Whether influencers and journalists are starting to engage with a topic ordinary users began.

  • Spillover

Whether a crisis at a competitor or adjacent brand is starting to draw comparisons to you.

  1. Baseline Normal variation. Logged, not escalated.
  2. Elevated Worth watching. A draft response is made ready in case it develops.
  3. Critical Escalate immediately and deploy the response playbook.

Respond

Built

Once something is flagged, the system does not just alert a human and stop. It drafts a holding statement, identifies which stakeholders need to be looped in, and queues a response playbook.

A human reviews and approves a draft. Nobody starts from a blank page under time pressure.

Illustrative example. Not a real client or incident.

Critical Complaint cluster

Similar refund complaints are bunching, which suggests a shared cause. A journalist with a large following has just asked about it.

Drafted holding statement

We know some customers have had trouble with refunds this week. We are finding the cause now and will update everyone affected by 4pm today. If this has affected you, message our care team and we will help you directly.

Loop in

  • Client lead
  • Legal
  • Customer care
  • Social team

Playbook queued

  1. Holding statement, for approval
  2. Customer care script
  3. Reply to the journalist

Where it stands.

Built today

Respond. The drafting and playbook side has been built and iterated against real crisis-response scenarios for AgendaX’s clients.

In design

Predict. The risk-scoring layer is in active design. We will publish an accuracy figure only after backtesting it against known past incidents.

The road
from here

First for founder-led fintech, healthcare and logistics businesses in Lagos. Then white-label for independent agencies.

  1. Pilot

The predictive layer goes live with two to three of AgendaX’s own clients and is backtested against known past incidents.

  2. Agency rollout

White-label Triage Engine for independent Lagos agencies, as a module they offer their own clients.

  3. Regional expansion

Wider signal coverage and multilingual support across West Africa.

  4. Platform and API

Self-serve tiers and API access, so larger comms and marketing stacks can plug in directly.

Built by operators. For operators.

AgendaX is a reputation intelligence and crisis response firm built for African companies operating in high volatility markets. We are not a PR agency. We are not a social media manager. We are the early warning system and response unit for businesses that cannot afford a reputation crisis, and cannot afford a full-time crisis communications team either.

We are a small, focused team with deep technical and creative range. We don’t have layers of account managers. You work directly with the people building the company.

Reputation risk and security risk follow the same pattern: both are about detecting threats early, understanding attack vectors, and responding with discipline. AgendaX is built on that conviction.

“Your agenda
in our hands.”

We exist so that businesses never lose a narrative they could have controlled. We prepare the message before the moment, and we stand with our clients when the moment arrives.
